Reno’s Local Cybersecurity Partner for Small Business
Over 90% of data breaches start with a human error. High Sierra Cyber helps small and medium-sized businesses across Northern Nevada turn that statistic around, through hands-on employee security training and realistic phishing simulations designed for the threats hitting our community right now.
We’re not a faceless software platform. We’re a locally owned firm based in the Reno-Tahoe region that shows up in person, knows the local business landscape, and gives you a direct line to an expert who cares about your success.

Who We Help
Any business where one convincing email, text, or phone call could cost real money. We work with small and mid-sized teams, including:
- Medical, dental, and other healthcare practices that need documented workforce security training
- Auto dealers, lenders, accountants, and tax preparers covered by the FTC Safeguards Rule
- Construction, trades, and property management firms that wire money and pay vendors by invoice
- Casinos, hospitality, and retail teams with high staff turnover and shared logins
- Nonprofits and professional offices that want cyber-insurance-ready training records
How It Works

Common Questions
How much does security awareness training cost?
It depends on team size and how often you want simulations. During your free consultation we scope a plan around your team and budget, so you know the cost before you commit.
Will my employees get in trouble if they click?
No. When someone clicks a simulated phish, they get brief, positive coaching on the spot. The goal is learning, not blame.
Do you only work in person?
We love showing up at your office anywhere in the Reno-Tahoe region, but we also run live virtual sessions for remote and hybrid teams.
Can training help with compliance and cyber insurance?
Many regulations and insurance applications ask whether employees receive regular security training and phishing tests. We provide documented training and reporting to support those requirements. We’re not a law firm, so we can’t give legal advice, but we’ll point you to what to ask your attorney or insurer.
What kinds of scams do you cover?
Email phishing, text-message scams (smishing), QR code attacks (quishing), and phone and AI voice-impersonation fraud, using scenarios relevant to Northern Nevada. See our latest scam alerts on the blog.
